Yesterday I purchased FFXIV through Steam. Anyway, I would greatly appreciate any help for me or anyone else who might be experiencing this same situation. I have gotten pretty frustrated that I can't play a game I bought. Steam only has customer service Mon-Fri so I can't contact them. From everything I have read, this seems like a common issue but I haven't seen a direct solution.

The portable hotspot thing then re opened ffxiv and it updated then after u can switch back to ur normal wifi. Okay what worked for me was I connected to my phones wifi. The most recent update was an emergency one that happened around the 13th of September. Whenever I got version check errors it was because the launcher was an older version and for some reason, it couldn't update itself to the most recent version.
